One of Shad's favorite songs is "Consider the Lilies". As most of you know, Shad's sister Shannon passed away about 6 months ago. This too was one of her favorite songs and was sung at her funeral. Needless to say, the song means even more to both of us now than it ever has. A few weekends ago on a perfect spring day and the weekend of LDS General Conference, Shad and Riley went to pick out some plants for the backyard. They came back with some lilies. Shad decided that we will always have lilies in the yard so that we can remember our beautiful Shannon and reflect on the wonderful message of this song. This same weekend the choir sang "Consider the Lilies" during General Conference. I felt a peace and a joy that is hard to describe...it was just a perfect weekend.
This weekend, some family members will be participating in the Salt Lake City marathon in her honor and to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. If you would like to donate to this cause, please follow the link below. We love you Shannon and hope we are making you proud!

thanks, Shad & Jodi... that is beautiful.
Very moving, Shad & Jodi. Thank you!
Thanks Jodi, that was very sweet. Yeah, it was very touching when they sang consider the lilies. So... We did the marathon and survived! They even announced our cause for CF and Shannan as we crossed the finish line. It was an amazing moment.
How sweet... that is an awesome idea to always have them in your yard! That was touching.
